The Eli Diaries

It has been a while since I’ve written anything new, and I am SUPER excited to tell you that I am back!! I am thrilled to tell you guys about the new project I am part of… In this series of novellas, the question is asked: What if Jesus were in high school today? Who would he hang out with? What would he say? What would he do? Authors Bill Myers, Melody Carlson, Jeff Gerke, Shawn Hopkins, Tim Shoemaker, and I will each be writing from the perspective of one of Eli’s fellow students: Maggie: the all-school sleep-around Judas: the super-rich friend always looking for an angle Martha: the good, uber-religious girl Tommy: the pessimistic downer Pete: a hot-tempered jock with a bad case of foot-in-mouth disease The first in the series is out today,...

My “State of the Writer” Address

I figure it’s about time to write a “State of the Union” address as a writer.¬†My last book has been out almost two months, and I’m getting a few “So what’s your next project?” questions from readers. So…What am I doing next? Writing another series? Sitting back and raking in all the dough I’ve collected from my first two series? Wrangling through a movie deal with a big Hollywood producer? No, no, and no. Here’s the deal: I love writing. I enjoyed every minute of writing the six books God has allowed me to have published. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be picked up by a publisher as amazing as Thomas Nelson. I am humbled and honored and elated to have been able to work with them and to...

On Writing REVOLUTIONARY

I have loved reading the posts from the REVOLUTIONARY Blog Tour. This was a tough book to write – ending a trilogy is HARD – and I was a little worried about what the reaction to the final book would be. But those who stuck with me through the first two seem to be enjoying the finale. Whew. So before I get back into my “regular” blog posts, I thought I’d write one on the process of writing REVOLUTIONARY. I won’t give away any spoilers, if you haven’t read it yet. But I will give you a little peek into my brain (be careful, it’s messy!) and how this final book went from concept to novel. I started out the series with a rough idea of where I wanted it to go. “Rough” is the key word there. I started making...

REVOLUTIONARY is on Tour!

While I sit at my kitchen table, drinking coffee and checking email, my book is on a cross-country tour! I am a little jealous, I’ll admit ūüėČ But it¬†is in great hands with the folks at YA Bound. These bloggers, though known only through cyberspace, have become friends as they have journeyed with me through the entire ANOMALY trilogy. I am excited to hear their thoughts on this final book! They have giveaways and several have special info about the book itself. So take some time to visit these websites, sign up for the giveaways and check out REVOLUTIONARY yourself!¬† July 14: Christian Chick’s Thoughts –¬†http://christianchicksthoughts.blogspot.com¬†– Review Books i View –¬†http://booksiview.com¬†– Review Highway-Y.A....
